Year 2031 Possible scenerio Onboard an Oil tanker Vessel underway from europe to USA: Vessel Encounters a fishing vessel 3 miles ahead, CPA: 0.8mile OOW informs master immediately and then Master rushes to his computer. Sends a mail to company describing about the situation. Company 24 hrs emergency service connects him to nautical compliance on duty personnel. Reply from nautical compliance- “Please do not take any action untill we tell you to do so, meanwhile please send us following documents” - Risk assessment for course alteration - pre course alteration bridge team meeting, and make an entry in deck log book about the meeting. - fill up excel sheet provided by company, stating speed, squat, speed and course of the fishing vessel. - How much alteration required to make CPA 1 mile - Extra fuel consumption caused due to alteration. - Difference in ETA cause of alteration. - Do u intend to alter on auto pilot or hand steering, and if hand steering then please state who will be the helmsman, and how much time it is going to take, cause we need to conunt his overtime. And after completing and sending it to company, master finally gets approval to alter her course by 5 degrees. Now everybody is happy, that they have successfully completed one alteration. Vessel goes to berth, vetting guy comes onboard and gives an observation. -“Vessel did not write the name of fishing vessel” 🤣😂😁😀
